Birmingham is host to a variety of educational, artistic, intellectual and enriching entertainment. This scene is outside the McWane Center, a hands-on science center featuring an I-max theatre.

The Birmingham Museum of Art

The second largest in the Southeast, houses the world's finest collection of Wedgewood porcelain and the largest collection of contemporary Chinese paintings in the U.S. The museum is permanent home to the famous Kress Collection, and hosts numerous traveling exhibitions each year.

The Birmingham International Festival

The oldest continuing festival of its kind in the world, honors the arts and culture of a different nation each year during the nearly six-week run of events held throughout the metropolitan area.

Birmingham Jefferson Convention Complex

Offers high profile concerts, plays, exhibits, sporting events and a full array of convention facilities and services. Alabama's largest hotel is a focal point of the complex as is the Alabama Sports Hall of Fame.

City Stages

A week long music festival, attracts over 250,000 people each spring to downtown Birmingham and joins the Birmingham-Jefferson Civic Center, Boutwell Auditorium and the Oak Mountain Amphitheater in providing patrons a wide variety of musical entertainment featuring nationally known talent.

Birmingham is also home to the the Alabama Symphony Orchestra and the Alabama Ballet.
